Express Entry

Your Fast Track to Permanent Residency in Canada

Starting a new life in Canada begins with a strong first step — and for skilled professionals, Express Entry is one of the fastest and most popular immigration pathways. But applying isn’t just about filling out forms — even a small mistake in your profile can lead to major setbacks down the line.

Since IRCC officers review every detail carefully, it’s critical that your application is complete, accurate, and aligned with the latest eligibility criteria from day one.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is an application management system that oversees several skilled immigration streams, including:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW) – for professionals with foreign work experience

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) – for trades workers in specialized occupations

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – for individuals with at least one year of Canadian work experience

  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) – for candidates nominated by a Canadian province

With recent changes, IRCC is now holding targeted draws for specific in-demand fields like healthcare, STEM, trades, agriculture, and French-speaking applicants. These draws focus on applicants with experience in NOC codes within TEER levels 0, 1, 2, or 3.

Having expert guidance can help you take advantage of these opportunities and ensure your profile stands out.

Are You Eligible?

You may qualify for Express Entry if you:

  • Are a skilled worker with foreign or Canadian work experience

  • Have education equivalent to Canadian standards

  • Meet language proficiency in English and/or French

  • Possess a qualifying NOC code in a targeted field

  • Have a provincial nomination or a valid job offer (optional but valuable)

Each program has unique requirements — but at Choice Visa, we help you determine which stream best suits your background.

How It Works

Once your Express Entry profile is submitted, you’ll be ranked through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Your CRS score is based on:

  • Age

  • Education

  • Work experience

  • Language ability (IELTS/CELPIP/TEF)

  • Adaptability factors (such as Canadian education or family in Canada)

If your score meets or exceeds the cut-off during an IRCC invitation round, you’ll receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
